UNIFORM AT LAKES

GENERAL
Students are required to wear the correct uniform that has been determined by the Board of Trustees.
An objective of the school is the promoting of good personal appearance and a pride in our school. Uniform items need to be clearly named (with a label that cannot be easily removed.)
Full school uniform is to be worn to and from school, and at school.
All pieces of school uniform (with the exception of the jersey, jacket, school cap & school beanie) are only available from Bill Davis Outdoor Sports world in Eruera Street. The school jacket, jersey, cap and beanie can be purchased at the school.

Junior Boys – Years 9, 10 and 11
Shirt: Regulation BLUE short sleeved shirt.
Shorts or Trousers: Regulation dark blue shorts or long trousers.
Jersey: Regulation teal blue jersey.
Polar Fleece: Regulation navy blue polar fleece.
School Jacket: Regulation blue monogrammed jacket.
Socks: Ankle length white/navy/black socks or knee length regulation light blue socks to be worn with shoes. No socks to be worn with sandals. Sandals are not to be worn with trousers.

Senior Boys – Years 12 and 13
Shirt: Regulation WHITE short sleeved shirt.
Shorts or Trousers: Regulation dark blue shorts or long trousers.
Jersey: Regulation teal blue jersey.
Polar Fleece: Regulation navy blue polar fleece.
School Jacket: Regulation blue monogrammed jacket
Socks: Ankle length white/navy/black socks or knee length regulation light blue socks to be worn with shoes. No socks to be worn with sandals. Sandals are not to be worn with trousers.

Skirt: Regulation plaid short skirt, worn all year.
Trousers: Regulation dark blue long trousers.

Shirt: Regulation short sleeved BLUE shirt.
Jersey: Regulation teal blue jersey.
Polar Fleece: Regulation navy blue with teal inserts polar fleece.

Socks/Stockings: White/blue/black socks to be worn with shoes. No socks/stockings to be worn with sandals. Sandals are not to be worn with trousers. Black stockings can be worn with shoes in Terms 2 and 3 only.

Senior Girls – Years 12 and 13
Skirt: Regulation navy blue short skirt, worn all year.
Trousers: Regulation dark blue long trousers.
Shirt: Regulation short sleeved WHITE shirt.
Jersey: Regulation teal blue jersey.
Polar Fleece: Regulation navy blue with teal inserts polar fleece.
School Jacket: Regulation blue monogrammed jacket.
Socks/Stockings: White/blue/black socks to be worn with shoes. No socks/stockings to be worn with sandals. Sandals are not to be worn with trousers. Black stockings can be worn with shoes in Terms 2 and 3 only.

ALL STUDENTS:
Only a white short sleeved undershirt may be worn under the school shirt.
Shoes
Plain fully black leather shoes- ie one colour (with black laces) Platform soles, high heels, and boots are not permitted.
Sandals
Plain, flat black with heel strap, ie not slides. Jandals are not permitted. Sandals may be worn Term 1 and 4 only and must not be worn with long trousers or with socks/stockings.
Physical Education Uniform
In the interest of health and personal hygiene, all students must have separate clothing for Physical Education, and must change completely. Hot shower facilities are available.
Regulation navy blue shorts and a house T-shirt are to be purchased at school from the PE Department. These T-shirts are only to be worn in PE and not under the school uniform.
Optional: Non-marking sports shoes and white socks.
Optional Uniform Items for Year 9-13
The school cap or a plain navy blue cap – suitable for hot summer wear – are the only caps to be worn at school.
The school beanie or a plain navy blue beanie – suitable for winter wear – are the only beanies to be worn at school.
The school scarf or a plain navy blue or black scarf are the only acceptable scarves.

Other:
Sunglasses
These are to protect the wearer’s eyes from the sun outside. They may be worn to /from school, at interval and lunchtime. They may not be worn in class.
Jewellery
The only permitted pieces of jewellery are:
Small ear studs or sleepers – one per ear, one bone/greenstone/fine chain ‘taonga’ and a wrist watch.
Other forms of jewellery are not permitted, especially ear spikes of any kind and visible body piercings.
Personal Grooming Boys/Girls
Boys and Girls hair must be clean and tidy and worn in a way that is safe in practical settings, eg. Laboratories/workshop.
Boys must be clean shaven.
